GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE DESCRIPTION

ROLE:  Manages how the board operates, recruits new members and ensures compliance with rules.

DUTIES: 

1.  Recruiting members:  Finding and vetting new candidates.

2. Onboarding: Leading orientation and training programs for new and members.

3. Succession planning:  Planning for future board leadership and officer roles.

4. Bylaw reviews:  Periodically review and update organizational bylaws and governance frameworks.

5. Structural review:  Recommending changes to board size, committee makeup or operational rules.
